Sell Your Art
Our firm specializes in selling art on behalf of private collectors, family trusts, estates and corporations. We frequently work with family executors and estate attorneys to organize the sale of art and tangible assets from an inheritance.
Be it a single work or a large collection, we will devise a sales strategy to identify the appropriate marketplace and ensure that the work is correctly positioned to receive the highest visibility in the current market. To date our clients’ art has been represented in auctions in Paris, Chicago, New York and London. Whether the avenue chosen is public auction or private sale, our goal is to achieve the maximum financial return for the seller.

Our insider knowledge of the auction industry makes us well qualified to handle sales at auction on behalf of our clients, many of whom desire total anonymity, lack the time or feel intimidated by the auction process. BTFAA will undertake the management of the consignment from the initial appraisal to the eventual sale on the day of the auction.
Our goal is to simplify the process and ensure the client’s artwork receives the attention it deserves. We routinely negotiate the most favorable financial terms, incentives and marketing plans that otherwise may not be offered to the client. In addition, we focus on important considerations such as timing the auction sale and choosing the best sale location - all issues which can directly impact the final sale price.
In advising on auction sales, we provide the following services:
Formal request of sale estimates and marketing proposals from auction houses
Negotiate the most advantageous terms and marketing strategies
Arrange packing and shipping in advance of photography and catalogue deadlines
Monitor pre-sale interest levels with auction house specialists
BTFAA is well positioned to handle private sales on behalf of all types of clients. We rely on our extensive network of contacts in the industry to determine the best course of action. We also research market conditions for a specific work of art or artist to determine if the timing of such a sale is sensible.
